Monique Santander
Monique Santander is a Chilean-American originally from Santiago who resides in the beautiful Hamptons on eastern Long Island. She primarily works out of the art studio in her home overlooking beautiful Aspatuck Creek in Westhampton Beach, New York. With a degree in Fine Arts from the Parson School of Design in New York, this fine artist worked in the international design print industry for many years creating unique creations for men’s and women’s apparel throughout the world.

Her accomplishments in the fashion print world were recognized with outstanding praise and acclaim. Monique's abstract art is known internationally for its expression of color, form and movement. She has exhibited in Chile, Germany, Greece, Mexico, Canada and various galleries in Manhattan, Miami and the Hamptons. This local artist is motivated by complete freedom of expression, using her emotions as a guide. Her watercolors display a sensitivity of tone and a grace of rhythm. Her acrylics on canvas are much harsher in color, and include bravura handling of the brush. The works are pleasing without abandoning her individuality of abstract imagery. Through mixed-media, Ms. Santander makes her personal statement on canvas, expressing her reactions to a variety of subjects within the tapestry of life. Compositions originate from the union between order and chaos. They are free and resist being defined in concrete reality. The uniqueness of her work lies in its spontaneity and whimsy. The seeds of energy are released as storms, wild spirals, whirlwinds of color. The work expresses delirium, intense colors reflected in unearthly shapes and microcosmic landscapes. Monique Santander artwork received a fantastic local reception when her figurative piece of the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center was chosen as the Playbill Cover for the 2006 season at this concert venue itself. Many pieces of this artists work were also featured at the Art at the Aspatuck 2007 Summer Gala sponsored by the Miller Foundation that benefited “New Linkages”. 2008 is going to be a superb year for this fine world artist. One woman shows of Monique’s art have been confirmed at the renown Gallery of the Consulate General of Chile in New York, the exclusive Remsenburg Academy of Art here in the Hamptons and several other venues. Please view this artist's creations on her website at www.moniquesantander.com Additionally, Ms. Santander is a Licensed Real Estate Agent affiliated with Prudential Douglas Elliman Real Estate in the Westhampton Beach and Quogue offices. When not in her studio feeding her creative streak, she can be found out in the community fulfilling the dreams of home buyers selling premier homes and estates throughout the Hamptons.
